The need is great among South African children. In most cases they don’t know where their next meal will come from. These children have grown up only knowing the devastation of Aids and now COVID-19, on top of the feeling of hunger.

Together with our ministry partners Meals from the Heartland and Convoy of Hope, we send containers of food to Southern Africa where local churches and partners distribute it to those in need. Through the feeding centers we support, 60,000 children receive a hot meal each week. In addition to feeding the children, we provide love and support through life skills and Biblical training. These children leave feeling both physically and spiritually full.

For those who would like a more personal connection to the children we are feeding:

How are we feeding 60,000 children?

Meals from the Heartland provides Blessman International with the rice/nutrient packages. 6 meals per package > 36 packages per box > 1,329 boxes per shipping container

Convoy of Hope provides Blessman International with 12 shipping containers each year valued at $9,000 each.

Blessman International partners with 8 feeding hubs throughout South Africa and Eswatini who distribute to feeding centers (churches, creches, etc.), totaling 60,000 children that we are feeding.

Del Cramer Child Development Center is our flagship feeding center, run by our own staff and local volunteers. The center serves many capacities. It acts as an after school program for 155 children daily.  It is a favorite site where our US volunteer mission teams minister to children.  It houses our computer learning center, our 2nd Abod community that provides homes to orphaned and vulnerable children & families from within the community, and Lighthouse Christian Church.

Social responsibility and self-sustainability are the cornerstones for Del Cramer Child Development Center. This feeding center is able to provide fresh vegetables from our farming co-op and healthy protein through our chicken coops. In addition, we office two government social workers on site that assist in proper child development, aid, and tutoring. This model is the foundation of a promising future for the children we see Monday-Friday. We hope the center will be a model that will be an integral part of our vision that within the next ten years, every child in Limpopo, South Africa, will have access to food, water and sanitation, and hope through Jesus Christ.

Blessman International has two farming operations that help to supplement food provided to our feeding centers. The Del Cramer campus has a farm co-op that includes vegetable farming as well as raising broiler chickens. The Mountain View farm has a much larger farming operation that includes vegetable farming and laying chickens.  The vegetables and eggs support our feeding centers or are sold at market to cover the costs of the farming operations.

Through a relationship with NB Safaris, tourists, who hunt African animals through NB Safaris, can donate the meat from the animals they hunt to our feeding program, providing another protein source for the hungry children that we serve.
