One Child @ a Time - April 2023
One of our favorite things about our child sponsorship program is the pen pal letter writing. We created the pen pal relationship between the sponsor and their child with the hope that sponsors could support and encourage their child. It also provides a cross-cultural experience for both sponsors and children to learn more about their pen pal’s culture and what life is like halfway across the world.
We asked the children at Del Cramer how they feel and what they enjoy most about exchanging letters with their sponsor; here are a few of their responses:
“I feel much appreciated and loved. I’m also interested to hear what comes from [my sponsor]” -Annikie
“I feel so happy when I get a letter from [my sponsor] and I feel so loved.” -Itu and Chantel
We also asked them what they wanted to hear most about from their sponsors. We encourage you to include answers to some of these questions in your next letter to your child.
- What do you like to do most in a day?
- What do you do in life (like your careers, hobbies, and activities)?
- Tell me about your church, work, and holidays.
- Tell me about your favorite subjects or interests.
- Thank you for supporting the children in South Africa and your dedication to showing them love and support through our letter exchange. We hope you see the fruit of your support through the letter writing and benefit from it as much as the children in South Africa are!
